Find out more about The World of Dinosaur Roar! and our work with the Natural History Museum.
The World of Dinosaur Roar! is a series of children’s books and characters created by Peter Curtis and is produced in association with the Natural History Museum in London. Inspired by the classic picture book Dinosaur Roar!, by Paul Stickland and Henrietta Stickland, this colourful collection of children’s books published by Macmillan's Children's Books, features dinosaurs with personalities bigger than they are.
Each book in the series introduces a different title character and uses his or her personality to teach children about dinosaurs and to convey a simple moral lesson. The 26 dinosaur characters frequently reappear in other characters' books in the collection, which together make up The World of Dinosaur Roar!
With wonderful, rhyming text and dinosaurs approved by the Department of Earth Sciences at the Natural History Museum in London, the books include a spread of simple dinosaur facts and a pronunciation guide.
Very funny, and great to read aloud, the story of Dinosaur Roar! The Tyrannosaurus rex will have children roaring for more.
Look out for Dinosaur Stomp! The Triceratops, Dinosaur Munch! The Diplodocus, Dinosaur Boo! The Deinonychus and many, many, more colourful dinosaurs from The World of Dinosaur Roar!

To create exciting and engaging content for young children everywhere
To help young children discover, learn and explore the world around them
To encourage young children to laugh, enjoy life and have fun
Young children are tomorrow's scientists. Their curiosity leads them to observe the world around them, ask lots of questions, and try to figure out how everything works.
If there is one subject that particularly captivates the imagination of young children, it is Dinosaurs. Pretty much every child goes through a 'dinosaur phase'. Often, this happens as young as two or three when a young pre-schooler eats, sleeps and breathes dinosaurs! Whether it's the sheer size of some of them, their monster-like appearance or the fact that these creatures don't exist anymore - children tend to have lots of questions about them. They love to draw them. They love saying their names. They have an endless fascination and an enthusiasm for them, like no other animal that has ever lived on the planet. Yet, even though dinosaurs don’t exist today, the idea of them and the evidence we have to show us what they looked like - make young children’s imaginations run wild!
The Natural History Museum is known all over the world. It is often considered the grandfather of all natural history museums. Its founder, Sir Richard Owen, even invented the word Dinosauria (dinosaur) in 1842.
For the first time in its history, the Natural History Museum’s paleontologists are working with animators, children’s writers and specialists in preschool education to transform The World of Dinosaur Roar! into a wide range of exciting new content for the under 6s that celebrates the magnificent world of the dinosaur.
All of our work is created in consultation with the museum and all content is endorsed by the museum and branded ‘in association with the Natural History Museum’.

Many years later, following a discussion about pre-schoolers and dinosaurs with the Natural History Museum in London, Peter created The World of Dinosaur Roar! and he and his business partner, Nick Barrington started the process of bringing the project to life.
